Research Labs > Biometric Technologies Laboratory
Biometric Technologies Laboratory is hosted by two Departments: the Department of Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Follow this link to official BTLab web site. The BTLab is a part of ISPIA. Biometric technology (BT) is the use of physiological or behavioral characteristics to determine or verify person identity.
BT can provide fast, accurate and reliable solutions to identification and identity verification problems. The Laboratory contributes by developing novel methodologies and infrastructure for the solution of biometric security problems and will foster the creation of unique multi-biometric technologies, security personnel training systems, and highly sophisticated biometric systems based on the analysis of bio-fields.
The laboratory's main focus is on:
- Generation of biometric information
- Machine learning in biometrics
- Multi-modal biometrics
- Cancellable Biometrics
- Context-based biometrics
- Social biometrics
- Situation-awareness systems
