CPSC 441 L01/L02 students, I am sending you this email in my role as course coordinator for "CPSC 441: Computer Networks" for Winter 2022. Assignment 1 demos will be happening next week (Jan 31-Feb 4), and we need to find a novel way to do these, since we are not yet allowed to return to campus for in-person activities. The solution that we have decided upon is as follows. Each student in CPSC 441 can choose between two options: (1) a live interactive Zoom-based demo; OR (2) a pre-recorded video of their demo. Further details on each of these follow next. For the Zoom-based demo option, the student must book a 10-minute time slot with their TA during their regular tutorial hours, or with their professor during the designated hours available for A1 demos. At your scheduled demo time, you will connect with your TA or professor via Zoom, and interactively go through the steps to showcase your Clown Proxy functionality. The deadline for signing up for a Zoom-based demo is 11:59pm on Sunday January 30. All demos will take place between Monday Jan 31 and Friday Feb 4, inclusive. For the pre-recorded video option, the student must make and upload into D2L a video that illustrates all the required functionality for the Clown Proxy. Videos should be 5 to 8 minutes in duration (no longer). The deadline for submitting your video demo into D2L is 11:59pm on Sunday January 30. Your video will be evaluated by your TA. A detailed list (script) of what is required in the video will be forthcoming soon. The choice between these two options is up to you. Please think it over, and plan your time accordingly. Recall that the demo is worth 10 marks on Assignment 1. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Carey
