Administrative Responsibilities
I am currently serving as Head for the Department of Computer Science (2011-2015). This means that I get to go to lots of exciting committee meetings, including:
- Department of Computer Science Executive Committee
- Hiring Committee
- Dean's Advisory Committee (DAC)
- Faculty Promotions Committee (FPC)
- Faculty of Science Executive Committee
- Faculty of Science Council
- Head's Forum
For the 2010-2011 academic year, I was Acting Head for the Department of Computer Science, and got to serve on many of the committees listed above, as well as the PAR (Post-Award Research) advisory group.
In the 2009-2010 academic year, I served on the following committees at the University of Calgary:
- Research and Planning Committee
- Graduate Scholarships Committee (Chair)
- Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarships Committee
- Post-Award Research (PAR) Advisory Group
In prior years, I have served on the following committees at different times:
- Research and Planning Committee
- Graduate Affairs Committee
- Academic Selection (Hiring) Committee
- Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarships Committee
- General Promotions Committee
I am also involved with Cybera, ISPIA, and WestGrid at the U of C.
