Placide de Morgan was born and raised in the city of Seltaren in the
Duchy of Urnst. Most of Placide's immediate family have aspirations
of wealth and power, all taking part in the politics of the duchy.
Indeed, Placide's aunt, his father's sister Gwen, is the wife of the
current Duke of Urnst, Karll Lorinar.
Placide has no interest in political games, leaving such machinations
to his older siblings -- his brother Edward and his sister Jophina.
Placide's interests are widespread, but his main ones he inherited
from his father's father.
Grandfather Savoy was an adventurer in his day. He was a skilled
fighter, yet still had a penchant for books and learning, setting him
apart from most of his other combative friends. This disparate set of
interests are also found in Placide, perhaps kindled by Savoy's time
spent with his youngest, most eager grandchild.
Placide has become a disappointment to his parents, who both feel that
social standing is the most important goal in life. Placide, truly,
has no real goals at all, except to try and live life as he pictured
it in all the tales from his grandfather. For the last five years,
Placide has traveled central Flanaess, finding adventure and meeting
new friends. Having been trained mentally and physically by his
grandfather, Placide has found that his hands and his mind are more
than capable of getting him out of most situations -- situations that
he has purposefully gotten himself into.
