Here we see when Belatu-Cadros finally hit Grandmaster Healer. Until you are a Grandmaster in something, you have no title on your portrait, so it was a proud day for him.

Oo, aren't we pretty. These masks weren't that common, and I can't remember how we got them. The staves were also uncommon at the time, I believe, so we all looked quite impressive. Rotten Spider, was both an excellent warrior as well as a remarkable salesman: no matter what kind of loot we had, Rotten would stand at this western bank of the City of Britain (the capital of Britannia) and hawk it. And he did it well! Note that this is an old, old screenshot, since Worker hasn't hit Grandmaster in a single discipline! Neither had Rotten or Julia it seems!

Another old screenshot, here Worker is sailing the seas of Britannia is search of sunken treasure. The backpack at the bottom shows the messages-in-bottles (removed from the bottles, of course), and on the right you can see the instructions for each. While searching the seas, Worker stumbled upon this cluster of boats in the middle of nowhere, and thought it odd. Maybe these sailors knew something about this area?

It was odd for Worker to be doing this, since Ghoti, the guild fisherman, was much more adept at it, and was the one who found the messages in bottles in the first place.

Ahh, Spencer. In his early days, he really didn't get along with the animals too well, but he eventually became a powerful bard and shepherd. Here we see that he's angered a few too many cows, and they almost have him cornered! Like Worker, Spencer would eventually master the skill of Provocation, and be able to sic the cows against each other. Not that he would, for he came to understand all animals and they would flock to him (and defend him if necessary).

Here we see Spencer practicing the skill of Provocation, making two Ophidians fight it out. The problem, of course, was what happens once one of them is dead?

Yes, Spencer, we're very proud. The trick was to make them fight each other first, and then get in there and hit them both equally so the survivor was so close to dead that even Spencer could finish them off. Not much of a brawler, that Spencer.

This was a great day, for me at least. Dupre is part of the Ultima mythology, a companion of the Avatar. For him to appear in Britannia, in our neck of the woods, was a great honor. The "(invulnerable)" after his name hinted that a) there's no point in trying to attack him, and b) that he's someone special.

Fame of a different nature, ImaLoser was a character in an online comic that was made solely from Ultima Online screenshots. ImaDufus was his friend (brother?), and it was kinda neat to see him in the flesh, so to speak. There's Rotten up at the top, his Guildmaster title proudly displayed. Worker at this time wasn't a very good treasure hunter at all, but he was working on it! You can see Worker was still concentrating on his mining, and can see the various types of ingots that he was able to get. Nice antlers, Worker!

The Despicable Wayne. That's me! Or is it? Actually, it was Jon, playing my rogue Syzygy. Disguise kits (you can barely make it out in the chest at the bottom of the screen) allow people to get a different look and name for a short time. Syzygy was good at his job, which was, of course, stealing. All of those boxes in his bankbox were filled with an assortment of items that Syzygy had stolen over the years. His backpack consisted of only items that never left your possession, even when you died. These were "starter" items -- things that each character started life with, and couldn't be lost. There was a small market for them, for folks such as Syzygy. Since he tended to die often (from victims and guards alike), it was nice to be reborn with all your possessions in hand. They allowed for easy disguise changes, and for posing as a new player (who would be the only ones to use such junk!)
