I did PhD in the department of Computer Science, University of Calgary, under the supervision of Dr. Mea Wang (Associate Professor). I graduated in September 2019 (defense date: Sep 9, 2019). My primary research was in the area of Computer Networks. The goal of my PhD thesis was to improve the Quality of Experience (QoE) of Dynamic Adaptive Streaming (DAS) Systems. The work was carried out in collaboration with AT&T Labs - Research, Bedminster, US. During the final months of my PhD, I also worked full time as an R&D Developer (February 2019 - September 2019) with Skyplan Services Ltd., Calgary.
Before University of Calgary, I worked as a research assistant at Linkoping University, Sweden. Here, I did research on the impact that a router implementing energy-aware adaptive link rate policies has on neighboring routers, under the guidance of Dr. Niklas Carlsson (Associate Professor). I did my MSc (by Research) from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (India) and BSc from Cochin University of Science of Technology (India). In between my BSc and MSc degrees, I worked in few research and IT services companies, namely, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Nework Systems Ltd. and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC).
