Apr 1, 2011     In order to make it easier to run our tests with the teams' systems for ARES, we would like you to make sure that they run under Java 1.6.0_22-b04 (which is the default Java version on those machines in the lab where there have been no problems).
Additionally, a system submission should consist of two files, a readme file and the project contained in a jar file. The readme file should contain detailed instructions on how to run the jar file. When the jar file is run, the expected outcome should to be that ONE agent attempts to connect to ARES. The Jar file should take a hostname and group name as command line parameters. The readme file should also contain names and ID numbers of all group members as well as the email address of a primary group contact who we can contact in case we have problems with the project. This person should be available and checking email on Friday, April 8, so that any issues can be resolved as quickly as possible.

Description of the course

The course covers the following topics:
Modeling of agents; properties of multi-agent systems; communication between agents; interaction and cooperation concepts; forming and maintaining organizations; competitive agent environments; learning in multi-agent systems; example systems.

There are no prerequisites for this course. There are strong ties to Artificial Intelligence (so having taken CPSC 433 definitely does not hurt), but we will introduce the necessary concepts from AI in this course.
