Things Not to Worry About
The ``Cartography'' system that's being described is quite limited,
and probably isn't very realistic. A more realistic system would
probably be unsuitable for use in this assignment.
Here are some things that a more realistic system might cope
with, but which you should not worry about, when working on
Assignment #1 for CPSC 333:
- You don't need to worry about maps of individual cities, or other
maps on such a small scale that a single city would occupy more
than one grid location.
- You don't need to worry about maps of the polar regions.
- In general, you don't need to worry about other kinds of maps
(that no one has mentioned yet), where the ``grid system,''
etc., that has been described would break down.
