Sunday, April 24, 2005, EARLY MORNING, ACTIVITY STARTS.

How are they going to swing the bridge?

Let's pull hard!

How many construction workers are needed to swing a bridge?

It's moving!

Pull harder!

Moving rapidly.

Now we are down to just one puller.

Will it hit the streetlight?

How are they going to swing the bridge?

It is going to be close!

Checking that all is ok.

It did not hit the streetlight!

Making sure it does not keep spinning and taking off!

It really looks a bit like a prehistoric monster from the front.

A week later, Sunday, April 24, 2005, VERY EARLY MORNING, John Laurie Bouleward closed for the day, completing the puzzle.

What do we do with this piece?

Balancing act.

The right piece is pointing the wrong way!

This requires some creative thinking.

What if we adjust the weight at the end of the bridge and then pull the bridge with a rope?

The commander on the bridge with the bosun ready to pull the rope.

Start pulling!

Hey, it really moves.

This is as far as it needs to move.

Let me help.

The rope was a good idea!

Almost far enough.

Stop pulling now, we might overshoot.

Look it is in place.

It is too far to jump, we need that middle piece as well.

We keep the middle piece on a leash until it is in place.

Hoisting the concrete on a leash.

Fortunately the piece is behaving.

Oh dear, we overshoot.

Looks like a good fit, we have a bridge after all.
