UPDATE: I am currently doing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University
of Washington working with David Notkin.
This is the research home of Reid Holmes. I am interested in all aspects of Software
Engineering, particularly with respect to developer tools. I believe that
developers can be better supported in evolution tasks while working on large systems. I am currently
investigating how to help industrial developers undertake unanticipated reuse tasks. My research systematizes what
is typically an ad hoc task, decreasing the amount of time required to complete the task and increasing the
likliehood of the task succeeding.
I am doing my PhD research in the Laboratory for Software Modification
Research under the
supervision of Rob Walker.
I did my masters research in the Software Practices
Lab under the supervision of Gail Murphy.
If I'm not working I can
usually be found spending time with my wife Laura and our new daughter Zoe. I also love being outdoors and enjoy
rock climbing,
mountaineering, and back-country skiing. I've also put some free
tools online that I've created.
