Haven't updated for a while, this is from way back in June. On my way home from Seattle to Calgary, I stopped in Vancouver for a weekend, and ended up playing in the Flowerbowl tournament with one of the Seattle womens teams that needed an extra girl last minute. We came in second! It was cool being in the finals, first time ever... hehe. The weekend was pouring wet, but an awesome time.

Second tournament of the spring - The Hot Apple Tournament in Wenatchee, WA! The weather wasn't as nice as the previous tournament - it was super windy, and the fields were full of dandelions. Still a good time, though!

Yes, our team hangs out in parking lots for fun ; )

This is an awesome disc that someone brought, regulation size!

First tournament of the year last weekend! Onionfest, in Walla Walla, WA. About 4.5 hours of driving from Seattle, it is famous for its onions and wineries (apparently).

The weather was gorgeous (mostly), our team did pretty decently (won 4 out of 6 games), and there were lots of Traffic jam jokes (and one about goat rodeos ; ). One game ended with an (almost) all ladies' point, which was cool. I also learned some new car games and how to play Puerto Rico : P

Traffic at Onionfest!

Saul and Sheelagh are now officially the new iCORE/SMART Technologies Industrial Chairs in Interactive Technologies Research. Basically, this means that iCORE and SMART will give them some nice funding for the next 5 years to do some cool research. Since yesterday was the launch for this, there were a bunch of people, including some media, visiting the lab for tours and demos.

Here is iLab in the news (courtesy of Carm and his recording machine):
CTV 6pm News (length: 2:16, 18MB)
CTV 5:30pm News (length: 1:05, 9MB)

Comments from the newsmen after the iLab segment at the end of the CTV 11:30pm News (basically a repeat of the 5:30pm one):
NM2: "What will they think of next?"
NM1: "Yeah, that's really neat stuff."
NM2: "Do you think they could figure out how to fix our internet up here?"
NM1: "Yeah, that'd be nice."
-_-;

After my uncle posted a collage of photos, where the one photo of me not in a large group was of me sleeping, I thought it would be funny to make a collage out of pictures of me sleeping. Unfortunately, although I sleep a lot in a lot of various places, I could only find three photos of times when someone actually caught me in the act.

So, I've decided to make a collage of iLab people eating instead. Partly cos we spent the past week and a half eating out a lot while Tony was visiting ; )

Maybe I should be working on my thesis instead...
