Research Interests

I am a member of the Graphics Jungle where I head the Visualization and Graphics Group (VISAGG). My interests include:

  • Applications of Signal Processing to Computer Graphics and Visualization
  • Physically-based Modeling and Rendering
  • Global Illumination

The wordle above is created from the abstracts of papers that I have authored/co-authored.

Prior to joining the University of Calgary, I was a graduate student at the Graphics, Usability, and Visualization (GrUVi) lab where I investigated strategies for the acquistion and processing of data on the Body-Centered Cubic (BCC) lattice. I am primarily interested in Scientific Visualization and Computer Graphics applications. Since both Vis and Graphics are diverse areas, my research is quite multidisciplinary and draws on other scientific avenues such as Signal Processing, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computed Tomography and Partial Differential Equations.
