Research Interests

I am a member of the Graphics Jungle where I head the Visualization and Graphics Group (VISAGG). My interests include:

  • Data Visualization and Computer Graphics
  • Non-Cartesian Computing (non-Cartesian lattices, splines and wavelets, data representation and management)
  • Physically-based Modeling and Rendering

Prior to joining the University of Calgary, I was a graduate student at the Graphics, Usability, and Visualization (GrUVi) lab where I investigated strategies for the acquistion and processing of data on the Body-Centered Cubic (BCC) lattice. I am primarily interested in Scientific Visualization and Computer Graphics applications. Since both Visualization and Graphics are diverse areas, my research is quite multidisciplinary and draws on other scientific avenues such as Scientific Computing, Signal and Image Processing, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Medical Imaging.
