Description of the course

The course covers the following topics:
Modeling of agents; properties of multi-agent systems; communication between agents; interaction and cooperation concepts; forming and maintaining organizations; competitive agent environments; example systems.
If time permits, we will also look into learning in multi-agent systems.

The prerequisite for this course is CPSC 457, the basic course on Operating Systems (why should become clear during the course). There are also strong ties to Artificial Intelligence (so having taken CPSC 533 definitely does not hurt), but we will introduce the necessary concepts from AI in this course.

to an explanation of the assessment of the students taking the course.
