Project Proposal
Due: Oct 31, 2015
The project of CPSC601.13 is a research work and it needs 1-2 pages proposal. In general any “research” related to the subjects of the course is acceptable. You are also allowed to work and re-implement recent graphics and visualization papers with the followings guidelines:
- Use the papers that employ the techniques are covered in the course
- Emphasize on computational aspects rather than applications
- Critique the computational methods which have been used in the paper
- Change and tweak the methods for improvements
A typical structure for the proposal is:
- Title
- Abstract: Briefly describe what, why and how.
- Introduction: Problem Statement and Literature Review
- Goals and Objectives: What will the project accomplish?
- Methodology: How will you investigate the problem? What will you do and how will you do?
- Programming environment: what programming environment will be used? Platform? Special library, GTK?
- Expected Results: What do you expect to find out?
- Works Cited: What sources(paper, books,..) were used?
Project Presentation
Each student should provide 30 minutes presentation on project progress including: a brief review on the proposal, current progress, example results and analysis, remaining to do and time line. The presentation date is Thursday Dec 10: 14:30-:17:00 with the following tentative time-slots:

Final Submission:
- Due date: Dec 27 by email/Dropbox/googledrive/...
- The final package should include:
* Proposal
* Program (source, exe, user manual, all related and used components)
* Selected pictures and slides of the demonstration/presentation
* Any extra material and information which are important for your project (e.g. related papers)
* Report (use a paper format which may include: Abstract, Introduction, Related Work, The core Method, Analysis and Results, Conclusion, and Bibliography). (See here for a sample report) or here for another one!)
